Roosevelt “Rosey” Brown, standing at 5’9″ and weighing 200 pounds, was a force to be reckoned with on the football field. As a senior co-captain, he played fullback for the Lock Haven University Bald Eagles in the 1980s, a time when the team’s wishbone offense was at its peak.

In his junior season, Rosey was the second leading rusher for Lock Haven, amassing 548 yards. His performance earned him a spot on the All-Pennsylvania Conference Western Division second team at fullback in 1985. He continued to impress in his senior year, gaining 512 yards on 134 carries, averaging 3.8 yards per carry, and scoring four touchdowns.

Over the course of his career, Rosey had 360 carries for 1358 yards and 13 touchdowns. His explosive and masterful playing style made him a standout player, contributing significantly to the effectiveness of Lock Haven’s wishbone offense.

In recognition of his outstanding performance and contribution to the team, Roosevelt Brown received the Lock Haven University Football Team Ed McGill Outstanding Senior Award in 1986. This accolade is a testament to his skill, dedication, and leadership both on and off the field.
