John Eisenhooth
John Eisenhooth was and outstanding Offensive Lineman who played for the Bald Eagles from 1983 through 1986. He was a multiple time All-Pennsylvania Conference Offensive Tackle and he was selected by his peers as a three-year team captain for the LHU Bald Eagles. John also collected numerous Player of the Week Awards throughout his stellar football career at the Haven and he received many Power Weightlifting Awards at the annual PSAC Linemen Challenge. His bench press was well over 525 pounds!
John Started his high school football career in Elysburg, PA, where he played football his freshman year for the daunting Southern Columbia Tigers. He and his family relocated after his freshman year and John made a “seamless transition” to his new school, Bald Eagle Area, where he built himself into an outstanding player and person under the direction of legendary Coach Gowan Stoker.
Sources familiar with John during his high school days describe him as “the best of the best” on the field and off. Dr. David Bower, one of the Lock Haven coaches during John’s career, describes John as, “one great football player and one great person!” Coach Bower went on to say, “If you put John in a uniform and put him on the football field, he just tears people apart, but if you had a daughter, he is the guy you want going out with her!” Dr. Bower also stated, “John probably could have played up in Division 1. He had the size and quickness of a D1 tackle. We were lucky to get him. He was quiet, but intense, and when he got his hands on you that was it! He was just a dominant Tackle in Coach Fisher’s wishbone offense, but he never stopped working his butt off.”
In 1986, With John’s leadership, the team rushed for over 2,100 yards and had over 3,100 yards of total offense (Pat Cahill rushed over 900 yards).
John signed with the NFL Philadelphia Eagles after leaving LHU, and played Offensive Guard for the Seattle Seahawks in 1987.
