Dave Laudeman

In the fall of 1986, Dave Laudeman came to Lock Haven by way of Waynesboro High School, PA, where he was an all-conference cornerback and tight end. At Lock Haven Dave developed into an outstanding Strong Safety and special teams player. Dave’s many accolades exemplify the tremendous career he had at Lock Haven University. He was a 4-year letterman and a nine-time ECAC player of the week. Dave was named the Most Valuable Defensive Player for the Bald Eagles in 1988, second team all PSAC West in 1988 and first team all PSAC West in 1989. Dave’s career was topped off by the honor of being named an honorable mention All-American in 1989.

Dave’s leadership abilities were recognized by his coaches and teammates when he was elected captain of the team in 1989. A teammate of Dave’s said the following about him, “Dave Laudeman was one of the most feared defensive players in the PSAC West from 1987-1989. He was a big hitter with an outstanding nose for the ball. He had 12 interceptions in his career and was a force on the outside. In addition to his hitting ability, he was also the team’s punter during his tenure. In 1989, Dave had 106 tackles.”

A Deans List student, Dave enrolled in the challenging Environmental Biology program at Lock Haven University and he still works in that field today.

After leaving Lock Haven University, Dave coached football for 8 years at Gettysburg High School and he coached youth football for many years.

Dave and his wife Julie have a legacy at Lock Haven University, as their son, Wade, is currently attending LHU. They also have a daughter, Sydney, who is a freshman at The University of Pittsburgh.
